The Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme will close on 17 March 2022. You have until 24 March 2022 to submit any new claims for absence periods up to 17 March 2022, or to amend claims you have already submitted.
You will no longer be able to claim back Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) for your employees’ coronavirus-related absences or self-isolation that occur after 17 March 2022.
From 25 March 2022, we will return to the normal SSP rules, which means employers can revert to paying SSP from the fourth qualifying day their employee is off work regardless of the reason for their sickness absence.
Please remember that any SSP paid after 25 March 2022 to your employees is not reimbursed by HMRC.
For the March 2022 payroll period, if you have any employees off work due to Covid and would like to claim back SSP, please let us know by 17 March 2022.
If you have any questions regarding the statutory sick pay rebate scheme, please do not hesitate to contact us.
